Only 3 Days Left

Hi everybody;

Today was a beautiful day in Cusco.  After spending our 6am morning worship time with the Quechua pastors and breakfast (“huevos fritos”--fried eggs, bread, fresh papaya nectar, cheese, yoghurt...so good!) we began the day with a trip to a local orphanage to love on the kids.  There weren't too many kids there when we arrived because of school and a trip to the market so the ones there got lots of extra attention!  Next a brief stop at a local goods market to try our hands at dickering and find some souvenirs, then back to ATEK for lunch and an afternoon of work.

The scope and focus of our maintenance/construction work has been quite fluid but everyone on the team has rolled with their changing roles and responsibilities and we have gotten rather a lot done.  The new paint and varnish looks fantastic and some upgraded lighting shows them off very nicely.  From time to time we have also been called upon to help with other small tasks and everyone is quick to jump to it.  Our attempts to communicate in Spanish remain pretty rudimentary but are expanding all the same.

Sharing with the Pastors, both our testimonies and the devotions we each have prepared on the book of James, remains a great joy and blessing.  The teaching of Pastor Bill and Pastor Chris has been very well received by the Pastors.  We are very excited by what God is doing through ATEK and humbled and excited that we have gotten to play a small part.  But as we edge closer to the end of our time here we ask for your prayers that we may finish strong as feelings of homesickness and tiredness set in for many of us.  Please pray that we may be strengthened and encouraged and that our last few days here may be blessed and a blessing to those we seek to serve.

Tomorrow is our day off, when we travel to Machu Picchu.  Our bus picks us up at 3:40am.  Yup, you read that right.  The rules for visiting the site have changed and so we have only a short window in the morning.  Very excited at the opportunity to see such an amazing historical site.

Thanks to you all for keeping tabs on us and for supporting us in prayer.  Only 3 days til we begin the trek home!  I know i speak for all of us when i say that while we are loving our time here in Peru we are very eager to see you, our friends and family, once again!
