Work at ATEK

Wednesday August 9, 2017

Waking up to six blankets all piled up on top of you is really nice especially when it’s only about 5 degrees out. It’s nice until you started hearing the dogs, and the pigeons, and the planes, and then you reluctantly have to get out from under the warmth. Devotions with the pastors was fun because hearing them pray and sing has a sort of melodic song to it. Pastor Chris shared today and it was nice to hear his testimony and devotion and how well the other pastors related and responded to him. Although it’s quite early to be up, it’s nice to get the day started so early. After breakfast we started back up all of our painting and electrical work that needed to be done. By the end of the day we were so close to being done but we still have one and a half days left to finish so we should get done.

Personal devotions in the afternoon is also a lot of fun because it’s one time in the day that we are able to sit and relax with God. It’s nice to read the bible and not have the distractions that we may have in Canada.

Tomorrow we are going to the orphanage and the market which is going to be really exciting. The orphanage should be really cool even with the one hour we have.

Some prayer requests that we have are that two of the ATEK staff’s family members are very sick. Mila, who came to the village with us, her son Immanuel has the mumps. And one of the head pastors’ granddaughter is also really sick.

Also, I know you’re probably already in bed but from all of us on the team…………………. HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY RYAN!!!!!!
