Only 2 and half hours before we board our flight to Peru!!! Time has gone by quickly...well kind of. When you add in sleeping, food and I pads.

Trip to Huancca Huancca (pronounced Wonka Wonka)

This morning the team gathered in our meeting room at 6:30 a.m.to wait for our taxi-bus to drive us to Huancca Huancca (pronounced Wonka Wonka). After piling in with Mila as interpreter and Pastor Freddie, we bumped, jostled and rattled along dirt mountain roads for an hour before stopping for breakfast along the highway, up high in the Andes Mountains. After breakfast, it was another two hours of bumping along before we saw the village of Huancca Huancca. Beach Corner church has been involved with H.H. (Short for Huancca Huancca) for every trip we’ve done for the past 10 years. ATEK started a work in this remote village about 15 years ago, starting with marriage classes and children’s ministry, to get their foot in the door regarding sharing the gospel. Now there is a vibrant church there. I asked Pastor Freddie how many families live in H.H., and I was surprised to hear it is 125. Chilling at Toronto International

Well we made it to Toronto safe and sound at 4:30am Edmonton time. Now it's time to check up on some much needed sleep. Only 8 more hours until we board our next flight. What will we do next with all this free time. I guess we will have to wait until everyone wakes up.

Only 3 Days Left

Hi everybody; Today was a beautiful day in Cusco. After spending our 6am morning worship time with the Quechua pastors and breakfast (“huevos fritos”--fried eggs, bread, fresh papaya nectar, cheese, yoghurt...so good!) we began the day with a trip to a local orphanage to love on the kids. There weren't too many kids there when we arrived because of school and a trip to the market so the ones there got lots of extra attention! Next a brief stop at a local goods market to try our hands at dickering and find some souvenirs, then back to ATEK for lunch and an afternoon of work. The scope and focus of our maintenance/construction work has been quite fluid but everyone on the team has rolled with their changing roles and responsibilities and we have gotten rather a lot done. The new paint and varnish looks fantastic and some upgraded lighting shows them off very nicely. From time to time we have also been called upon to help with other small tasks and everyone is quick to jump to it
